Nature Photography Workshop

November 10 - 13, 2025

Under the guidance of photographer Dr. Steve Barten, our Nature Photography Workshop is for photographers of all skill and experience levels. You will travel through LSSI’s wide variety of landscapes and ecosystems, from the maritime forests to the marshes, beaches, and everywhere in between. There will be endless opportunities to photograph the island’s birds, wildlife, plants, landscapes, and beaches.

Fall Shorebird Event

September 22 - 25, 2025

Join us this fall for a deep dive into the world of shorebirds. Little St Simons Island’s seven miles of beach host thousands of migrating shorebirds each year like the Avocet, Red Knot, and Piping Plover, and we’re excited to offer this three-day program for those interested in learning more about shorebird conservation and research.

Fly Fishing Workshop

December 9-12, 2025

Whether you're a freshwater fly fisherman looking to test new waters, or a spinning reel fisherman looking to learn a new method, there is no better opportunity than the Little St. Simons Island Fly Fishing Clinic.

Marine Clean-Up

January 12 - 15, 2026

Marine debris clean-up days at LSSI are a wonderful opportunity to participate in marine conservation. Our January event will be a clean-up of Little Saint Simons Island's 5-mile main beach.

We’re excited to offer a new event that will allow guests a behind-the-scenes peek at the LSSI culinary operation and an opportunity to hone their own cooking skills. Join us for a long weekend of Island adventures and culinary delights. Participants will spend their mornings out enjoying the island with our naturalists, and their afternoons learning and cooking, for an Island visit with the best of both worlds!

Celebrate the migration on Little St. Simons Island! Guest ornithologists join our staff naturalists on excursions highlighting the abundance of species that flock here during this special time.
